There is an environmental crisis...
because man has made and has...
we are running a civilization
based on squandering, on throwing away...
and instead of thinking in our species,
let's say that we're absorbed
by the god "Market".
For this reason, for the game...
of these three fundamental aspects, our era...
is tinged with a set of reasons,
that are un-reasons,
as Unamuno said.
And that threaten us from all sides:
the obsession to accumulate money,
the financial crisis,
the weakness of the world to put taxes...
on the exagerated concentration of wealth,
the incapacity for planetary agreements,
that would allow us to take care of nature and life.
¿Will mankind be able to do anything?
¿Will we have the capacity
to reason as a species...
instead of reasoning
as individuals or as countries?
¿Will we be able or have we reached
the limits of the human creature?
Great questions I cannot answer.
But that I consider, to be at the base
of most of our current misfortunes.
Because, paradoxically, never before
mankind disposed of so many resources,
such accumulation of scientific knowledge,
such sums of capital,
so many dimensions
to change the destiny of the planet!
However, it looks like
we have to navigate blindly...
iluminated by the tyranny
imposed on us by the civilization of market...
without remembering that
the essential key is not the market,
but life itself.
